ExaApp has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong Kidney Foundation (HKKF), represented by its Chairman, Dr. Lui Siu Fai, to support the digital transformation of the Foundation’s renal centre and administrative operations.

The MoU establishes a framework for the two organizations to collaborate over the coming 18 months, bringing together the Foundation’s service experience and ExaApp’s capabilities in healthcare technology, workflow transformation, system integration, and applied AI.

The collaboration will examine how digital tools can support day-to-day operations at the renal centre. The work will focus on understanding existing processes, identifying repetitive or fragmented tasks, and introducing practical solutions that help staff coordinate information and services more efficiently.

Rather than treating digital transformation as a single system replacement, ExaApp will work with the Foundation to develop improvements around its operational needs, existing workflows, and adoption priorities.

The scope also includes the Foundation’s administrative operations. Opportunities may include simplifying internal workflows, reducing manual handling, connecting information across processes, and providing clearer operational insights for staff and management.

The 18-month timeframe allows the organizations to take a staged approach—from workflow discovery and solution design to implementation, staff adoption, and continuous improvement.

A key area of collaboration is the use of secure, on-premise AI services. This approach can keep sensitive information and AI processing within a controlled environment while supporting the Foundation’s security, privacy, and governance requirements.

AI may assist with suitable operational and administrative tasks, but staff will remain responsible for reviewing outputs and making final decisions. This human-controlled approach reflects ExaApp’s commitment to deploying AI responsibly in healthcare and community-service environments.

Through this MoU, ExaApp and Hong Kong Kidney Foundation aim to build a practical digital foundation that supports more connected operations today and creates a secure path for future AI-enabled services.
